ESMERALDA BONFIRE DANCE
Esmeralda is preparing in the darkness at the side of the square. The Gypsy girl will dance, hoping for coins to be tossed to her, and which the Gypsies will collect.
In the firelight, she beings her dance, and glows in the darkness of the square. Quasimodo is there with Claude but they watch from the shadows. Also watching is the playwright Gringoire and the soldier Phoebus. They all react with strong reactions to her beauty and grace.
